Just Java Banquet Hall opened their

doors before hand in order to accommodate

the crowd of young girls casting

to be a participant in the

Quinceañeras Magazine Cover Girl Contest.

The girls and their parents were very attentive to

the explanations of the rules and requirements

in order to be one of the participants and

experience the opportunity to be a Cover Girl.

Andrea Castruita the 2008 Fall/Winter Cover Girl,

commented on her experiences as a

Quinceañeras Magazine Cover Girl.

In order to get to know the girls a little more

they presented themselves to the

audience one by one.

In charge of the contest is the Cover Girl

Contest Coordinator, Daysi Aron.

A long line was formed of young girls urging

to fill out the required paperwork

in order for them to enter the Contest.

My Quince Magazine

Out in the market there's a new Magazine for all those future Quinceañeras in the Los Angeles Area.

"My Quince" is the new baby from the same publishers of the well known Latino Bride & Groom Magazine.

My Quince Magazine reaches the market with a distribution in over 500 stores located in Southern California and thousands of subscribers.

The Dream Team of Jesus Jimenez (Publisher), Veronica Guevara (Editor-in-Chief) and Kathy Truong (Managing Director) worked long and hard to bring to all Quinceañeras to be this high quality Magazine.

I appreciate "My Quince" magazine for having me as part of this new adventure by choosing my photographs to be a part of it.

Looking forward to photographing many more Covers for "My Quince" Magazine.

2009 Quinceañeras Magazine Cover Photoshoot

Everything was ready for the date of february 18th. We all met at "Just Java Cafe" on Third Avenue to photograph the Cover for the next 2009 San Diego Spring-Summer Edition of "Quinceañeras Magazine". Michelle Sandoval was the lucky Cover Girl model.

I arrived early to the meeting so I could have enough time to check the lighting equipment, put the background together and prepare cameras, lenses and CF cards.

Michelle looked spectacular and she did an admirable job following every direction I gave her.

Congratulations Michelle!!! You are a big part of the success in this 2009 season issue of "Q uinceañeras Magazine".

Let's Hit Downtown and see what we can do!!!

In downtown, I knew we would have many oportunities to take great photos. Jusel a very spontaneous and fun girl, made the Photoshoot a whole new experience. We drove straight to downtown and looked around for colorful locations, we found a few nice places. The parking wasn't that bad at all. For the hardware, I used my own favorite lens: the 70-200/2.8 and a Promaster reflector to fill out the shadows. Every photo is full of energy and color. It wasn't easy to select her final Photos for the Pictorial, we had so many great shots. Hope you guys like them as I do!!!

Jim's Formal Wear

A month ago We got a call from "Jim's Formal Wear" requesting Quinceañera Photographs for their new Nationwide Advertising Campaign. Jim's Formal Wear provides Tuxedo rentals for Weddings, Proms, Black Tie affairs and other Formal Events. They have nearly 6,000 Formal Wear Retailers Nationwide.

This 2009, Jim's Formal Wear is coming strong in the Quinceañera Market. They will be introducing exciting new Tuxedo styles for Chambelanes in hundreds of colors to choose from.

Our Quinceañera Photographs will be use in Jim's Formal Wear Catalogs, Brochures, Banners and in their Web Site.

Here is one of our Quinceañeras in a Banner that will be displayed in Retailers all over the Country.

Quinceañeras Gala

Hi guys. Here are some photos from the recent "Quinceañeras Gala" at the Hilton Garden Inn in Carlsbad, Ca. This special event was organized by "Quinceañeras Magazine-San Diego".

Look at us, all set and ready. A few minutes away before all the future Quinceañeras and their families make the Grand Entrance.

In this First time Workshop, only the most exclusive quality vendors were invited to take part. The Gala had a great Entertainment Show by Julio Mayo.

Glamour Latino-Modeling School, was in charge of the Fashion Show.

The new "2009 Spring-Summer Quinceañeras Magazine Cover Girl" was elected.

Charlie Bradley did a great job as the Emcee.

Thank's "Quinceañera Magazine" for our Recognition.

Quinceañeras Magazine is ready for their second Grand Expo coming up on sunday October 12. The previous Expo was held at the Windmill in Carlsbad, we had over 1000 guests. This time the Expo will be held at the "Handlery Hotel" , the proud Host Venue where the newest Fall-Winter Quinceañeras Magazine Edition will be presented. Quinceañera of the Year

Genesis Maganda the winner of "The Quinceañera of the Year" contest, sponsored by "Quinceañeras Magazine". Here are some of the images we did for her "Foto de Firmas" session in a local Park. These photos were taken a few weeks before her big day.

We met a little after 4 pm to make use of warm natural light. For this photo session I used a favorite lens of mine, the 70-200 mm/2.8. I also utilized a 32" gold/white reflector and of course, post-production in Photoshop to enhance color and skin tone.

Very early, on the morning of August 15, Genesis and her parents were up and ready to start the Big Celebration. We arrived at her house around 3 pm to start photographing. Her Chambelanes and the Limo arrived, a nice shiny White Hummer by our good friends from "Dreamer's Limousine".

Genesis wanted to do her location photos at "Heritage Park" in Old Town. Gosh!! We had beautiful light all evening. We began photographing Genesis with her Chambelanes and Damas. I had them do various group poses. It was Genesis turn; Daysi, my asssitant was handing me lens after lens. We had plenty of time and began to do various creative poses. The photo shoot lasted for an hour and a half; she is "The Quinceañera of the Year", I wasn't going to miss this oportunity to take great photos of her and for the Magazine. Here are some of the photos that I liked most with the beautiful Victorian Houses in the background that really enhanced Genesis.

Genesis and her parents were so happy always with a smile. The day was full of emotions. It was an unforgettable day for Genesis and her family.

Quinceañeras Magazine Cover Photoshoot

Last august 4th, at the "Windmill" in Carlsbad; we met to photograph the Cover for the next San Diego Fall-Winter Edition of "Quinceañeras Magazine". Andrea Castruita won the contest with help from her family and friends. Here are a few snapshots of Andrea getting ready before the photoshoot.

I arrived early to have enough time to check lighting, background, cameras and lenses. Andrea did a wonderful job, she was so professional and followed every direction, always with a smile. At the end of day, we were so happy, we had many great shots to choose from. Thanx Andrea!!!
